Updates About Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones

Scott Jones, we don’t want you!

Scott Jones is an elected official. He is supposed to represent and serve the community.

Instead, he is detaining undocumented immigrants (and getting paid hella money for it by the federal government).

Instead, he is attacking black leaders.

Instead, he is running an inhumane county jail, where Armani Lee (among others) continue to be abused and degraded.

Instead, his staff is getting away with killing unarmed black people.

He is not serving our community -- he is HARMING our community. He has not been held accountable for any of this. And now, he has been so encouraged by the lack of accountability from his superiors that he has taken it to another level.

In response to community demands of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department, Scott Jones is PERSONALLY writing letters to BLM Sacramento Founder and Chapter Lead, Tanya Faison. In this unprofessional move to openly target one of the most prominent black leaders in our community, Scott Jones has crossed a line that no public official should ever get away with. In an open letter to Tanya Faison, he tells Tanya directly that “there are far more responsible, effective voices for the African American community here in Sacramento than you, Ms. Faison.” Scott Jones does not get to say who is an “effective” leader in the black community. So let us tell you, Scott Jones, that the black leaders of this community are united against you. We are working hard to hold you accountable for your actions and the actions of your staff. And we won't stop working until there is justice. We love justice.

Community call: show up! We are holding a Press Conference in front of Scott Jones’ office this Thursday. It’s the perfect day to protest Scott Jones. Join us!

Armani Lee Update: Yet again, Scott Jones’ staff at the Sacramento County Jail is abusing and mistreating inmates. Armani Lee has continued to be harassed, abused, and contained in solitary confinement for no reason. He is being called names daily, and being refused time out of confinement each day to shower. Most recently, on August 7th, 2017, Armani had a court hearing where he plead NOT GUILTY to his charges. Armani needs our love and support as he battles this unjust system. Donate to this YouCaring page to put money on his books: https://www.youcaring.com/armanilee-873493. Next court date is set for September 29th. Stay tuned for us to post the Facebook event! We got his back!
