Own it, Be Proud of it, Protect it!

This fight. The fight for liberation. The fight to free ourselves from oppressive systems. The fight for justice for those currently suffering in these systems, is never ending and certainly not for the lighthearted.

Your Racist Distractions Are Nothing to Us: Our Fight is for Justice

The fuel for this movement lives in both the pain, sorrow, and violence of being stolen by law enforcement, incarcerated for Black existence, and traumatized by white supremacist capitalist systems that feed on Black poverty and death—as well as—the bliss, magic, and opportunity that we know develops when we love, uplift, and put our hope in Black people, ALL Black people.

This movement is driven by the loss of loved ones. There can be no distractions from that. We aren’t here for your lies and rhetoric, never, we want justice for those taken and a joyful future for those not yet created. They live in our dreams, beat in our hearts as we march, and lift our heads from a slumber of denial when we think we cannot go on facing such danger while attacking a system consumed by and created for Black subjugation.

Sacramento, your alarm clock has been ringing.

Sheriff Scott Jones: No More Distractions

ARMANI LEE UPDATE.

Armani was shot by Sac PD undercover cops, left on the ground to die, and law enforcement contacted his family to report that he had died while he was laying on the ground in desperate need of medical attention. Armani was eventually taken to the hospital, has had multiple surgeries, and has been incarcerated since this incident. He is currently using a wheelchair while in Sacramento County Jail. After much battle from the community to get a policy passed for the timely release of footage of officer-involved shootings, Sac PD finally released videos from the Armani Lee shooting. What you will see is that all the videos released start AFTER Armani Lee was shot by Sac PD. The most recent update in this case is that Armani Lee has plead NOT GUILTY to his charges. He is going in hard to fight this system and we need to show up to bear witness! He will be facing the very officers who shot him down in the street. He has also been in solitary confinement for 2.5 months total during his time in Sacramento County Jail since the incident. He is being harassed and abused by the jail guards. Show up to his next court date to bear witness on Friday 10/6 at 8:30am: https://www.facebook.com/events/346953589090790/ and please donate to this YouCaring page to put money on his books: https://www.youcaring.com/armanilee-873493.

Can We All Be Wrong?

For over a year now BLMSacramento, other organizations and individual community members have been in courtroom after courtroom supporting folx, for no other reason except that Law Enforcement narratives continue to cause one to further question and doubt the system.  Law enforcement has a history of pitching false narratives to local and national media outlets solely to justify the outrageous nature of their behaviors masked as FEAR.  Consequently throughout the world, Black folx are seen as the scum of the earth, no exaggeration.

Community Control & Safety: Sac Alternatives to the Police

There is less than a mile from the freeway offramp to my home, but in that short distance I see the late stages of capitalism and white supremacy unravelling all around me. New transformer-looking Sac Sheriff’s SUVs speed past unhoused folx dehydrating on the center divider—public servants too busy detaining and searching Black neighbors to pass a water bottle to a community member in need. Sac PD rolls through being bolstered by the 30 additional officers assigned to Oak Park after an increase in community violence, but I just see them spend their time hassling and raiding encampments of neighbors solely trying to survive. Meanwhile, a woman with tears running down her checks stumbles into traffic and no one seems to give a fuck because her melanin and gender have already been ascribed guilt. …and who are Paladin Security, really, and why are they everywhere?

#Justice4JamesNelson

On June 23rd, 2017, James Nelson, who has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, was experiencing a mental health crisis and was in need of help. Citrus Heights Police Department responded, and instead of helping James, they held him to the scolding hot ground. That day was 100 degrees, and the asphalt was reported to be as hot at 170 degrees. He suffered (and is still suffering this day) from severe burns and was fighting for his life for weeks after the abuse. He underwent surgery for skin grafts and is likely going to need more. Days after the incident, CHPD tried to turn around and say that James was a "suspect" for robbery. Videos have been released of the supposed "robbery" incident, which clearly shows no such thing happened.
